This single malt was distilled in 2011 at the Balmenach Distillery, one of the most traditional distilleries in Speyside and home to the Caorunn gin. It was aged for 12 years in a single hogshead that preciously held Moulis-en-Médoc, a French red wine, and bottled by Alistair Walker for his Infrequent Flyer collection without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

Only 298 bottles were produced.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE Tremendous sweetness - pronounced aromas of rum and raisin fudge. Also fruity - apricots and peaches - and nutty, with a definite almond praline presence.
PALATE Brown sugar, brandy snaps, pecan pie and vanilla. Toasted bread. A tangy, fruitiness is evident, with cranberries and red plums. Sweet spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger, and allspice. Overall a rich, viscous, dessert-style dram, with an underlying spiciness.
