This 13-year-old is truly a unique and remarkable release. It is not only bottled to celebrate the 2021 Islay Jazz Festival but also marks the first time Lagavulin Distillery has used Refill American Hogshead casks and an Ex-Mezcal finish to mature their malts. 

The tasting notes do not disappoint. On the nose, unusual smoky-meaty aromas lead to familiar linseed oil and fragrant smoke. The texture is smooth and rich, the taste sweer-savoury then warming, as waves of smoke sweep over the palate carrying hints of spicy wood and smoke-dried jalapeño pepper. New-found heat lingers with the smoke in a long finish.
