The distinctive distillery character of Dailuaine has been a favourite has been a favourite of the Thomson family since the early 1900s when records show it was one of the key malts of the family blend. This cask is a modern reminder of the 'meaty' style the distillery produces that made it so desirable even over 100 years ago.
Distilled 1st April 2011 and aged for 11 years in a Hogshead before being bottled on the 1st November 2022 at natural cask strength of 59.2%ABV, without chill filtration.
Only 250 Bottles have been produced.
NOSE: | Reveals little more than the trademark heat of a cask strength whisky. |
PALATE: | More complex story to tell than the nose. An orchard of classic Speyside fruit notes shine through, with stewed apples, pears, and rhubarb, before slowly being replaced by a tobacco leaf note that hovers like a smoke ring before falling away. |
