The history of this brand dates back to 1826, when Charles and David Gray built Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery on the banks of the River Clyde. The distillery was closed in 1907 after 81 years of operation.
The Adelphi name was revived 1993 by Jamie Walker the great-grandson of former distillery owner Archibald Walker. This time however he decided to lead company in a different direction and become an independent bottler.
With the construction of Ardnamurchan Distillery, Adelphi became a distiller once again, this time producing East Coast single malt.
