After decades of maturation, this Tormore spent a final 27 months in a 1st fill Oloroso sherry barrique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOloroso is a rich, dry sherry from Jerez in southern Spain, aged oxidatively so that it gains depth, colour and nutty warmth. A barrique is a smaller cask of around 225 litres, giving the whisky more contact with the wood, and as a first fill cask its sherry influence is at its freshest and most generous.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe long years in cask have softened and refined the spirit, building depth, poise and complexity, while the Oloroso finish has added a layer of richness and warmth.
