Secret Islay 14 Years Old Refill Sherry Butt

ABV: 48.7% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled on the 5th of April 2011 at an unnamed distillery on the Isle of Islay. It was matured for 14 years in a refill ex-sherry butt, resulting in a unique, maritime and fruity malt with notes of ash, bbq pineapple, cherries and more sweet fruit. Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Fragrant Drops. 

Nose

Vanilla fudge, freeze-dried raspberries, maple syrup, Blackpool rock, peach, green apple, malted barley, farmyard, salted chicken skin and marshmallows over the campfire.

Palate

Ash, bacon jam, raisins, figs, lemon tea, malty sweetness, salted caramel, melba toast, fleshy fruits, pear.

Finish

Tannic, juicy, cherries, almond skins, gentle peppermint, liquorice root, pear, bbq pineapple, white chocolate and immense smoke
