Peat's Beast 34 years old aged in a cognac cask. This islay single malt is rich on the palate. notes of salted caramel, sticky toffee pudding, lime marmalade and frangipane.it's complex flavour later open up showing fig cake, liquorice, manuka honey and ginger spice. there is just a faint note of grapefruit acidity and saline persistency to round off this nugget of liquid gold.
the nose opens up with Scottish heather honey, Turkish delight, pear skins and Swiss white chocolate. there is also hints of caramel fudge, cape gooseberries, ogen melon and vanilla panna cotta slowly unfolding in the background. a cloud of gentle peat smoke and American white oak ebbs away softly on the dropdown.
