Linkwood 12 Years Old
This 12 year old single malt is from a vatting of two sister casks from Linkwood Distillery. This release is something of an oddity, with a natural cask strength of just 47.5% though only 12 years old. The team at Fragrant Drops believe the two casks must have been stored somewhere extremely warm within the bonded warehouse. Both casks only held around 60 bulk litres inside, with one sitting at 45%, the other 50%. So Fragrant Drops vatted them together and the result is exquisite!
With the intense maturation comes a richness akin to a whisky matured in a warmer country. The angels may have taken more than their fair share but they have left their heavenly mark...
Only 175 Bottles have been produced.
TASTING NOTES:
| NOSE: | Quintessentially Linkwood; red apples, fresh cotton, orange blossom, palma violets and fizzy sweeties. |
| PALATE: | More apples, but with Scottish tablet, butterscotch, and white chocolate. |
| FINISH: | Apples with light white pepper and minty chocolate. |
