This gentle Speysider has spent the final two years of maturation in a fresh ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. The nose offers a delicate balance of Speyside’s soft, fresh fruits with Jerez’s rich, unctuous dried fruits with lashings of spice to boot. The full, oily palate brings the sherry influence to the foreshowing raisins and figs before developing into rich baking spices and some mashed banana. The spirit character rallies on the finish with grated apple and pear drops appearing. A wonderfully warming dram perfect for an early evening on a cool, crisp day.
