Where most distilleries brew a plain, high-yield wash for efficiency, Burnobennie brews a beer wash built on speciality malts more often associated with craft brewing. Distilling a wash with that character carries more flavour through into the finished spirit. The distillery ferments for at least seven days, distils slowly, and reduces the spirit to filling strength with water from the Pannanich Wells.

The inaugural release matured chiefly in first-fill bourbon casks and is strictly limited to 2,020 individually numbered bottles.
