Balvenie is known for a honeyed, fruity and beautifully rounded spirit, and long ageing shows it off at its best.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first Burnadjacent release disappeared in near record time, with orders for more than double the number of bottles in the cask. When Little Brown Dog secured a second cask, they released it straight away for those who missed out: a sister cask with an extremely similar profile, at the same price.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has matured in a refill hogshead, a cask that has already held Scotch whisky, so its influence is gentler than a first fill cask and well suited to long ageing. As a teaspooned cask, with a tiny amount of another malt added, it is bottled as a blended malt rather than under the distillery's name.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOver 36 years the spirit has developed slowly and gracefully without being dominated by oak.
