A first fill barrel is on its first use for Scotch, so it gives the strongest oak influence, and the smaller barrel size means good contact between spirit and wood.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFirst fill bourbon wood is a natural partner for heavily peated spirit, letting the smoke stay front and centre while sixteen years in oak round off the edges and add sweetness and depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAged 16 years, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2026.
