These barrels had then been filled with Islay malt before being used for this Ardmore, so the oak's influence is gentler and the casks may carry a little of the island's coastal, smoky character with them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePairing Ardmore's Highland peat with casks that have seen Islay whisky makes for a smoky, layered dram, and the 100 Proof strength gives it plenty of intensity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAged 12 years, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2026.
