Ron Cabezon starts its journey in the Caribbean. It is tropically aged for five years, and then we moved to the cooler climes of Scotland. When it arrives at the Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire distillery, it is blended with Guyanese and Dominican rums into the perfect blend and then split into two batches.
In batch one, is macerated with sultanas to give that subtle Christmas morning feel, adding natural sweetness and depth of colour. Batch 2 is the home of botanicals. The rum is infused with fresh Scottish honey from a farm, as well as Madagascan Vanilla, West African Kola Nut and a little spicy Arabian Cubeb for a little lip-tingling warmth.
The infusion is then distilled to create a fresh white rum and then blended with the macerated Batch 1 to get that gorgeous, golden Caribbean rum colour then finish it off by bringing it down to bottling strength with spring water, trickled down from the Cairngorm mountains.
